Fun at the Library

Colin loves reading more than anything. He constantly has books in his hands and even goes to sleep with a pile of books in his bed. Sometimes when I think he is asleep, I go in and check on him and find him reading his books instead! Little stinker! So, this summer we signed him up for the summer reading program. He had to read 5 books a week to get a prize. So, each week, we would go to the library and he got to pick a prize out. He usually went for the Steak & Shake milkshake coupons, Denny's Doughnuts doughnuts coupons, or McDonald's ice cream cone coupons. Once he did pick a free DVD rental from the library. My kid loves desserts! :)

Every week, he got to pick out 5 books to take home for the week. They also have a Discovery room to play in there. Here are some pics from our recent trip to the library. The reading program is now over and since he completed it he got a ticket for a free book to take home. He loved the whole program and definitely loved checking out books (mostly about cars, trucks, etc.) I need to make sure to make time during the school year to continue going there. We are fortunate that our sitter brings the kids to the library often, too. As you can see, even Cade enjoys the library, especially when Colin reads to him there.

Enjoy!

Colin & Cade's Photo Shoot

We had the boys pictures taken this summer by a very talented photographer, Lynne Sugai, who was actually a parent in my classroom last school year. She did an awesome job! I love taking pictures of the boys, however, mine never turn out this good! I love how she captures their personalities, innocence, and love, all with a photograph. I am so happy to have these pics to remember them both at this age.
We took them at a local park, Ewing, and she just followed them around and went with whatever they were doing. She joked with Colin and made him laugh and smile. I love all of them! These are some of my favorites, I knew I couldn't post all of them and thought the collage was the way to go (it took me forever trying to narrow them down to a 9 pic collage). It was really hard to choose which ones to put up, so imagine how hard it was for me to decide which ones to print and frame for my house (my cd had 350 to choose from!) All of the pics are amazing! I love all of them! Enjoy!

As you can tell, I love the close up ones...they seem to take my breath away. Everytime I look at them (the pics), just seeing how much they grow each and every day it reminds me to stop and enjoy each and every moment with them.

Carley & Matt's Wedding

Another family wedding this weekend! Carley is my cousin on my dad's side. Her mom is actually my dad's cousin, so Carley is my 2nd cousin, however, we have always done so much growing up, they are just as close to us as our other cousins are. The wedding was beautiful, the weather was awesome, and the reception was a blast! Their colors were black and white and the decorations at the reception were very striking.
Carley taught Kindergarten in Pontiac last year and just last week got a Kindergarten job at Northpoint (where I teach!) I am so excited to have her at my school. I am sure she will do great and the kids will love her. Matt also teaches, but the older kids, at one of the high schools in town.
Another beautiful couple...

My brother Chris, Colin, Cade, and I with my grandparents. My Nana just had open heart surgery (triple bypass) only short six weeks ago. Doesn't she look amazing? She is one of the most beautiful older people I know! I only hope to look that good when I am older!

This was most of Steve's night...

We have had so much fun hanging out with family these past two weekends. The next weekend, we do have another wedding, but not family this time, only Steve and I are going. Colin & Cade get to spend some quality time with Grandpa & Grandma Cunningham. Summer is definitely a popular time to get married!

Mike & Jill's wedding

We had an awesome time this past weekend up in Madison, Wisconsin at my cousin Jill's wedding. Everything was beautiful! We all enjoyed ourselves! I am amazed at how they pulled this wedding off...she is in medical school and he is in grad school. They are so busy, but all turned out great! The only thing that wasn't great was the heat...it was so hot! And to make matters worse...the church had NO air (no joke!) Despite the warmth, everyone had a wonderful time!

Here is the beautiful couple...

Hard to believe but we have another cousin wedding this weekend. Luckily, the wedding is in town and we have the luxury of not traveling! Looking forward to lots of fun this weekend, too!

Colin and Cate

We went to the zoo with our friends Molly, Cate, and Meghan last week. Colin loves Cate! As Molly and I were taking pictures of them together, we joked..."when they get married, we will have these cute pics to look back on". They are adorable together! When our playdates are over and we are getting ready to go home, they both run towards each other and hug each other. Too cute!

Short and sweet post today. We are headed off to a family wedding in Wisconsin tomorrow morning. I am sure there will be lots of fun pictures to post. Have a great weekend!

It's been 5 years!

It has been 5 years (tomorrow) that we have been married. It is hard to believe it has been that long since Steve and I were married. July 12, 2003 seems only like yesterday!

Today, I looked through all of the pictures of our rehearsal, wedding, and reception and remembered what an awesome time we had that night. We were surrounded by the most important people in our lives...our family, and our friends.

We are so lucky to have found each other and go through lives journey together. It can only get better from here. Happy 5th Anniversary to the man I love more today than yesterday!

A lot of things can change in 5 years

Then...

Now...
Spring Break- March 2008
5 years flew by, I can't wait to see what the future brings!

Colin's First Golfing Experience

Last week, Colin got to go golfing with the guys...Daddy, Papa, Uncle Brad, and Uncle Chris at a golf course in El Paso. He was very excited to use his clubs for the first time. He got them from the Easter Bunny this year. He has been practicing at home and finally got to use them. He was so excited to go play with the big boys! Here he is with all of the guys.

I sent the camera with Steve and told him to take pics of Colin because it was his first time golfing. I have to say I am impressed with how many he took. The guys helped out too with the responsibility! Colin tried golfing, but they said he had more fun in the cart...at least that is a start! Here he is practicing his swing and having lots of fun! Not bad form for the first time! :)

A week in the life of the Cunningham's...

So, I haven't posted in a week now... so I decided to do one collage to wrap our week up! We had a fun week in our household & busy too.
(Follow along the collage left to right to see the pics I am talking about.)
We started out swimming at a friends pool, then fun bike riding after bath. Colin, Cade and I went to the Children's Discovery Museum and Colin liked to show Cade around. Then we went to a neat little ice cream shop right next to the museum. Cade was so tired he fell asleep in his crib sitting up! Too funny! We also went to Chuck E. Cheese. The boys both had a great time. That place isn't my favorite place, but I braved it by myself so the boys could have fun. Cade didn't know what to think of Chuck E when he was sitting next to him in the car! :)
We went to the pool with Holden (see pics below - same trip). Then over to Papa and GG's house for dinner one night. They boys got to sit on Uncle Chris' motorcycle (for a photo op only!) Then we got to go back to the Museum with friends, two little cuties, Cate and Meghan. Colin loves Cate! On Friday, we also had the fun run and Daddy made it home in time to run with Colin. He loves running and getting the first place ribbon at the end! :) We finished our weekend at a family wedding in Chicago & celebrating Uncle Chris' 21st birthday.
Whew! What a week!
